/ 01 — TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Plates

Flat products are used for fabrication, pressure equipment, tanks, process vessels, cladding, formed components, heat shields, shims and general engineering. Selection should define grade, product form, thickness, width, length or coil dimensions, finish, edge condition, flatness, testing and protective packing.

Whether the requirement is for standard maintenance quantities or a project package, our team reviews each sheets, plates & coils enquiry against the requested material, dimensions, specification, service conditions, inspection and delivery plan. Availability may include ex-stock, mill production or made-to-order supply depending on the combination.

How it is made
01

Traceable slab is reheated and rolled to the specified plate thickness and width.

02

Solution heat treatment or the grade-specific thermal cycle establishes the ordered condition.

03

Descaling, shot blasting, pickling or grinding produces the required surface.

04

Plates are levelled and supplied full-size or cut to drawings by approved processing routes.

05

Thickness, dimensions, flatness, surface, PMI and ultrasonic testing are completed when specified.
